Individuals from different social, political, and cultural backgrounds can have very different perspectives on authority. The key to successful interaction with diverse groups is to understand their point of reference and work to overcome barriers. This training explores different cultural perspectives on law enforcement and ways law enforcement can build a relationship of trust and mutual understanding with immigrant communities.
Many law enforcement officers lack proper understanding of immigration categories and corresponding rights. Moreover, many departments lack comprehensive policies on processing noncitizens. This training instructs officers on immigration categories, immigrant IDs, and ICE priorities all designed to help officers and departments develop a comprehensive plan for processing noncitizens.
Training seminars can be tailored to a variety of organizations and topics. Please contact me to discuss your needs.
